These pages will tell the tale of the rise and fall of House Birchwood. An ancient house in the North of Westeros. Their words "Strength through Perseverance".
Younger brother to the late Lord Rodrik Birchwood, Galen has spent his life in the shadows of ruling men, preparing for a position of power, only to be regent for the few years between his brother's death and his niece's coming of age. Crippled from birth and maimed by childhood illnesses Galen is little more than a husk of a man, but his appearance belies the cold intellect that has allowed him to survive all these years and help lead House Birchwood to its prominence and place of power in the North.
THEIR BANNERMEN
"Out Of Doom We Prosper"
Poderick Seawatch
Poderick Seawatch has been the Lord of his house for the past 12 years. He was a staunch supporter of Robert's rebellion as he had a crush on Lyanna Stark during his recovery from a hunting accident at Winterfell. Despite his miserliness, Poderick is renowned for his mercy.
"Against the Flood We Stand"
Byron Fordkeep
Byron Fordkeep has been in charge of his house for 9 years. Unlike many other lords in the North he has turned to the Andal belief in the Seven after a miraculous recovery from a festering wound and has uprooted the Weirwood that stood in the center of the Fordkeep. He keeps a small group of wandering septons to preach the faith to his smallfolk and knights alike.
Byron is a chaste man and his strong belief in the Seven has made him prejudiced against those clinging to the Old Ways.
"Ashes and Greens"
Bayse Blazewater
ser Bayse was unwillingly appointed by Byron Fordkeep to wed Alayne Blazewater and take over command of the House.
Bayse was a Southron Hedge Knight who came into the service of House Fordkeep. Despite his elevation to stewardship he remains a tool of Lord Byron.
